Fisheries are backing the scheme too

TIME is running out to enjoy the first of 2018’s Take a Friend Fishing (TAFF) campaigns for 2018.

The scheme is designed to make it easy for everyone to enjoy fishing with family and friends, free of charge.

TAFF is run by the Angling Trades Association in partnership with the Environment Agency and is supported by Angling Trust venues, clubs and coaches as well as individual fisheries.

Through Angling Times, existing anglers can obtain a free one-day fishing licence (each worth £6). This will enable them to take a friend or family member fishing right up until midnight this Sunday, April 15, 2018.

In addition to a free licence, participants can also fish without charge at a number of fisheries across the country.

Details of the fisheries that are taking part in the TAFF promotion can be found at www.takeafriendfishing.co.uk Exclusions may apply, so please check carefully.

What’s more, everyone who has registered for a TAFF voucher online will be entered into a draw to a win a day’s fishing for two with a licensed angling coach at one of the participating fisheries.

It’s really easy to Take a Friend Fishing. Cut out or print off the voucher, fill in the contact details, validate it online at www. takeafriendfishing.co.uk then read the terms and conditions, grab your fishing tackle and voucher, and take a friend fishing!

The free licence voucher cannot be used to fish for salmon, sea trout or coarse fish on rivers, streams and drains in England between March 15 and June 15 inclusive, when there is a closed season.

The closed season may apply to some canals and stillwaters in your area too –please check before you set out.
