A fantastic £304 was raised for the lung cancer research charity and on the fishing front victory went to Glenn Bailey of Stand & Deliver Promotions with 10-8-0. He drew the white gate at The George where he fished breadpunch at 5m, followed by groundbait at 11m with pinkie, to take roach and a bonus 2lb skimmer. Sunday’s open produced a big winning weight for Oakwood Angling’s Adam Southgate, who drew peg 49 and fished pellet at 14.5m to take 200-4-0 of carp, followed by Guru man Pete Upperton with 171-12-0 of carp on meat in the margins from peg 55. Winner Dave Saville fished several lines to keep the fish coming from peg 100. Maggot across at 14m and pellet down the middle and in the edge saw him net carp to 6lb and a few skimmers for 140-8-0 at the scales.

After a tough opening round, this second leg was much better, with two good leading weights. Matt Barnett was an easy winner from peg 12 in the marina at the Rock of Gibraltar, weighing in 11-500 of bream and hybrids taken on chopped worm and caster at 11m and across to a boat.

With £1,000 going to the winner, this was definitely a match not to miss for anglers who have won an open at the fishery in the past 12 months. King of the Manor turned out to be to Mosella man Craig Edmunds with the only ton of the day, a 128-014-0 net of carp from peg 88 on the Homeground Lake taken on pellet on the long pole at 14.5m.

TODBER MANOR FISHERY SILVERFISH FINAL (SUN) Hill View, Ash & Homeground Lakes (33 pegs)

Sunday was the turn of anglers to fish for the silverfish prize, and Silver Fox man Mike Nicholls led them home with 33-14-0 of skimmers and roach. He fished caster and dead maggot over groundbait on the pole from peg 80 on the Homeground Lake to pocket the £750 top prize. Tony Rixon was second from peg 61 on Hill View Lake with 33-2-0 of roach and skimmers. Darren Webster took this first rover of the year with 88-15-0 of mainly F1s from Canal Lake peg 5. Fishing maggot shallow at 4m, he was over 14lb clear of Tom Pringle who, from Pollawyn peg 22, fished pellet short for 74-2-0 of carp and skimmers.
