RIVER WEAR, DURHAM CATHEDRAL WATERS, COUNTY DURHAM

-

Looking to break the British dace record? The River Wear is the place to be. The section near the peninsula on which Durham Castle and the historic cathedral stand can be fished by joining the Durham City AC. The stretch is home to large numbers of silver fish including dace, chub and roach, with bags of fish weighing in excess of 100lb caught in the past. A stick float or blockend feeder with small natural baits will be enough to amass a good catch. There’s also a real possibility of barbel along this section. These fish tend to fall to boilies.
