DORSET STOUR, STURMINSTER NEWTON, DORSET

Angling Times (UK) - - WHERE TO FISH -

The Stour was made famous back in 1990 when it produced a British record roach, and the river to this day still throws up specimen fish of all species. The Coldber Stur section of the river controlled by the Sturminster Hinton Angling Association is one of those pieces of river that can provide a real surprise capture. With quality roach, bream, perch, pike and even tench present, a day’s fishing can result in a nice mixed catch. There are a number of swims along the section ideally suited to the waggler or stick float, while the big bream can be caught from the third meadow to those fishing a groundbait feeder.
