JOSH Goddard shot to the lake following an England World Cup game and saw this 36lb-plus linear hit the back of his net.
Josh banked the fish at his Norfolk syndicate in the wake of England’s 6-1 win against Panama after preparing a spot near a large weedbed.
He said: “After watching the England game I decided I was going to get down to the lake in the late evening and squeeze in a night before having to head off to work in the morning.”
Next morning he woke to a melting take off the spot. Josh said: “After holding steady pressure it surfaced 15 yards out and just from the colour alone I knew which one it was straight away – a fish I had hook-pulled at the net the previous season.”
The fish took a CC Moore Pacific Tuna boilie over two Spombs of whole, chopped and crumbed freebies.
