Angling Times (UK) - - WHERE TO FISH -

Set in the 200-year-old estate, the Old Lake has been visited by some of the best names in angling since the 1960s. A true mixed coarse fishery, it boasts stocks of carp to 30lb, bream over 10lb, tench over 9lb, zander over 16lb and some truly special crucians up to a record-shaking 4lb 8oz. The fish fall to relatively straightforward tactics, and baits such as chopped worm, casters or pellets should see you land a decent mixed bag. The lake is perhaps most iconic for its option of fishing from a boat. The Old Lake punts are very popular and allow the angler to explore parts of the lake such as ‘The Jungle’, which is inaccessible from the bank. Contact: 01306 883621 Postcode: RH4 3JU
