A venue with its own place in crucian fishing history – all the lakes on site hold stocks of quality crucians and tench. The bars of gold regularly come out over the 2lb mark, with a 4lb fish a real possibility. On Harris Lake, anglers using a specialist approach of a 1.5oz inline lead with a hair-rigged sweetcorn hookbait have caught crucians approaching 3lb and tench of 5lb-plus. Casters fished over groundbait have been getting bites on Richardson Lake, where a delicate pole float presentation is required to indicate the bites from the shy-biting larger specimens.
