36lb 5oz FARMER’S FRIEND FROM A POND
THIS high thirty had never been caught before Richie Leat tempted it from a farm pond.
The Wiltshire angler found fish in a weedbed at the southern venue and prebaited ahead of his session, which also produced a 20lb common.
The big mirror, at 36lb 5oz, was stocked by the venue owner as a young fish but had never been banked. Richie said: “The farmer realised it was a fish he hoped was still in there, and told me the history of the carp, revealing that he’d had it since it was the size of his hand in a tank at home.
“I was delighted to have caught this particular fish. It’s the biggest fish in the lake, and I’m sure you would agree it’s an absolute stunner!”
Richie used 2kg of 15mm and 18mm Dynamite Monster Tiger Nut boilies soaked in matching Tiger Nut Oil and Liquid Feed.
