WHEN fishing couple Ruby and Ashley Terry headed to the Maltkiln Lane Fishery on the River Trent they had no idea they were about to smash their barbel personal bests. Ashley began with a 15lb 1oz specimen (below), but Ruby bettered that with an impressive 15lb 10oz whisker (above). Speaking to Angling Times, Ruby said: “We absolutely smashed it, having 18 fish in total, with 10 of them being barbel. “I’d like to thank Jo at Maltkiln for being so good to us and letting us take our camper van for the kids to sleep in – they loved it and even caught their first fish. “It was a fishing trip we will never forget.”
