- IAN JONES News Editor

THESE awe-inspiring pictures are from the third series of the groundbreaking TV show ‘Monster Carp.’

Angling Times readers voted ‘Monster Carp’ as the TV show of the year in the Angling Times 2016 National Angling Awards – and if these pictures are anything to go by the next instalment will be a contender in 2018.

So what can we expect from the new series? The show’s TV production manager Gary Newman said: “Monster Carp really lives up to its name in Series 3, with some absolutely huge fish being landed for the cameras.

“As well as landing king carp to nearly 80lb, Ali, Tom and Neil go in pursuit of a species that has never appeared on the show before – the mighty Siamese carp, which is found in Thailand and can grow to over 200lb!

“We visited some amazing venues during the filming of this series, including one of the biggest waters in Europe – Spain’s Lake Orellana – and our own Gigantica Lake in France, as well as heading more off the beaten track to a venue in Bosnia that has a large stock of big carp.

“We also travelled outside of Europe to Gillhams Fishing Resort, in Thailand, home to numerous Siamese carp topping 100lb.

“The finished shows look epic, and I’m sure that people will enjoy watching them, whatever type of fishing they are into themselves.”

The first episode aired on Thursday, July 12 at 8pm – if you missed this episode you can still watch it on the ITV Player.
