WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE? ANGLING TIMES READERS HAVE THEIR SAY

-

Ross Winfield: “Abolish the closed season.”

Geoff Moses: “Ban private ownership of rivers and waterways. All rivers should be accessible to all anglers not just the elite few who can afford it.”

Glynn Mccarthy: “I think more information on fishing tactics, could be put into an educational package aimed at schools and colleges. Something like this would protect our fishing in years to come”

Tim Phillips: “More disabled or easy-access pegs on all waters. A proper coaching system that allows normal clubs to encourage young anglers to go fishing without all the red tape. Too many rules makes it near-impossible to take young people fishing.”

Simon Earl Dean: “Catch more people without rod licences and actually prosecute them. People who steal fish should face a prison sentence and a huge fine.”

Owen Lerry: “I’m frustrated that the Environment Agency still allows water companies to dump raw sewage, and that farmers’ agricultural run-off is allowed to continue to pollute our rivers, streams and seas.”

Rob Lloyd: “Make access to locks/ marinas for lure anglers. Also we need better control of otters and cormorants.”

James Gammons: “Reducing carp venues and have a lot more mixed fishing venues.”

Paul Glynn: “Bring back the closed season.”

Phillip Meek: “A set of standard match rules across the whole country. Decent research into what effects certain types of baits have on fisheries by competent people.”
