KEY LONDON TACKLE DEALERSHIP POISED TO CLOSE

-

ANOTHER part of London’s angling history is about to bite the dust as Judds of Hillingdon prepares to close its doors for the final time.

Judds, along with Simpsons of Turnford, Ashpoles of Stoke Newington, Youngs of Harrow, Don’s of Edmonton and Woodys of Wembley, formed an awesome group of dealers, with Woodys now the sole survivor of what was once the hub of the London fishing tackle scene.

The shop will still be open for a while yet, definitely Fridays and Saturdays, to clear its stocks at rock-bottom prices.

It’s always sad to see a tackle shop go, but when it’s been such a part of London’s scene for so long it’s particularly poignant. I wish Dennis Harrigan and brother Chris a happy retirement and, perhaps, more time on the bank.
