BREAM AND SKIMMERS PUT IT BEYOND DOUBT

DAVE MASSEY SHIELD (SAT) Leeds-Liverpool Canal, Crooke-Appley Bridge (111 pegs) THERE was a fitting turnout in remembrance of Wigan match ace Dave Massey on his beloved canal, with over £450 raised for charity.

Winner was Liverpool rod Gareth Charnock who romped home with 21-10-0. He drew on the high wall at Crooke village and picked off bream and skimmers using breadpunch at 10m and caster at 16m.

That left Adam Jagger in second from below Gathurst Lock, where he, too, alternated punch and caster on the pole to take 9-13-8 of mainly skimmers.
