PVA FOR DEEPER WATER

You can buy hard pellets in a huge range of different flavours, and you will often find that one bait is producing the goods on your venue.

I prefer to dampen my hard pellets to soften them because I am convinced that carp prefer softer baits at this time of year. While I am softening the baits I might as well add some flavour too, so I begin with unflavoured carp pellets as my base.

It pays to have a subtle, rather than an overpowering, scent to the bait. To a pint of water add just a teaspoonful of your favourite additive. I tend to use liquid foods, rather than artificial flavours, as these are not only less overpowering, but their complex flavour is more attractive to the fish.
