MAKE MINE A MATRIX!

That’s what you’ll hear from anglers who have looked at the 2019 pole range

-

ANEW pole from Matrix has been a long time in the offing since its brilliant Nemesis model – but fans of the brand can now be more than satisfied with not one, but four offerings from the Essex tackle giant under the MTX banner, and at price points to suit every pocket.

The poles have been two years in the making but that’s been time well spent to create something capable of taking on the ever-changing UK angling scene where catching big carp one day and then winkling out small roach the next is paramount. This pole can do the lot.

Created around a single mandrel for cross-section compatibility from the butt section all the way down to the top kits, Toray Japanese carbon fibres alongside high-impact resistant resins produce not only strength and power but also pleasing stiffness, balance and – most importantly – lightness at each pole’s full length.

The range can be broken down simply, with the MTX Ultra poles representing the top end.

The two Power models hit the sub-£1,000 bracket perfectly, all with a plethora of top kits, a cupping kit and mini extensions. Of particular note is the 13m MTX1 Power, which for just £500 has to be one of the bargains of 2018 and for years to come.

MTX top kits

To complement the new MTX pole range, there’s an equally substantial choice of top kits that each pole arrives with or which you are able to pick from to give you more options on the elastication front.

Built to enhance the rigidity and balance of each pole, regardless of which kit you go for, all kits come cut to the same length, are pre-bushed, and are fitted with Matrix’s new Revolve side puller system.

They’re finished with the same Glide tape used on the rest of the pole to produce a smart, ultra-smooth finish for effortless shipping in and out.
