Giant river stripey falls to a roach livebait

YOUNG Teddy Towner was the envy of all anglers when he banked this tremendous 4lb 14oz perch in February.

The nine-year-old was being treated to an afternoon’s fishing with his dad on a private stretch of river in Essex when the near-5lb stripey devoured his roach livebait.

Teddy’s mum told Angling Times: “He was very happy and has always loved fishing but doesn’t get to go out that often, but now he is itching to get back out there. He’ll remember this for the rest of his life!”
