THE River Trent has produced countless huge barbel in 2018, and George Gorst was just one of many anglers who banked a personal best from the in-form Midlands waterway during a stunning year of catches.
George’s massive 17lb 2oz fish came on a trip to the Gunthorpe stretch that also produced two eleven-pounders, with all three falling to NBD Pro Sushi boilies fished snowman style. He said: “When I got it in the net and on to the scales I couldn’t believe it read 17lb 2oz – it beat my old pb by over 4lb!”
