JOHN Wilson’s all-time big fish list makes enviable reading. Through the course of his career he caught an incredible 217 different freshwater and saltwater species from 34 different countries.

His British list of personal bests includes bream of 13lb-plus from the Forgotten Lake in Norfolk, 3lb rudd, 2lb 14oz roach, and tench over 9lb – many of these caught for the Go Fishing TV cameras – now that’s great fishing!
