Do pleasure anglers get a fair deal from commercial waters?
I NOTICE many commercials now concentrate their efforts on match anglers. I live in Sheffield and travel to venues in a radius of 50 miles. I arrived early one Sunday at one complex, only to be told that there were no lakes available for pleasure fishing. I could fish in a match if I so wished. I declined and have not returned.
In my opinion, the idea of stocking as many fish as you can in a lake to enable anglers to pull out 300lb-400lb of fish is not fishing.
I believe they should substantially reduce the fish stocks in lakes. Many match anglers, I am sure, will disagree. Steve Maggs, email
