Barbel bagging!
I can’t believe how many big barbel there are in the Trent now. Over the past few seasons I’ve had some memorable pleasure fishing days at places like East Stoke and Fiskerton on the Nottingham Piscatorials water. No matter what I’m fishing for, I always seem to end up catching barbel!
A day back in July saw me fishing for roach with my mate Kelvin Tallett, and it wasn’t long before we had to change kit totally from light silver fish gear to extra-strong float gear once the barbel moved in!
It was one of the most exciting days in ages, and every fish tested our
Tournament RS Power rods to the limit!
