Pop-up tench
Underwater filming using remote cameras has taken up a big chunk of my time, and some of the results have been eye-opening. Having filmed tench quite a bit, I thought I knew how to tweak my tactics to trip them up. This year I learned how often they can pick up a bait and then eject it. These were quite small, hungry fish in a local estate lake too, not highly pressured gravel pit fish. There was no perfect answer, but swapping to popped-up baits on hooklengths of just a couple of inches definitely made a difference.
