IT WAS a first for me to see swifts mating on the wing near Hereford at the start of the river season.

I SAW this rare bird only last month at Minsmere. Another one to tick off the bucket list.

AT MONUMENT One carp fishery in late summer I watched as a hobby took a bat in mid-air right above my head.
