MOST DANGEROUS FISHING LOCATION OF THE YEAR: NORTH SENTINEL ISLAND

Okay, so on the face of it, this remote location sounds a little dicey. For one thing it’s home to a hostile, cut-off tribe who have yet to discover fire, let alone carbon fibre rods or fixed-spool reels.

North Sentinel Island hit the headlines last month, when a Christian missionary was found riddled with arrows – the traditional “welcome” of these isolated and deeply suspicious folk. Mind you, we can all get a bit irritated by Jehovah’s Witnesses...

Here’s the thing, though – with such a perilous, remote location, imagine what the fishing could be like? Access is illegal at present, but perhaps with a cash donation and few polite phone calls to the Indian government you might get lucky. So who’s game?

Actually, I know several anglers who would happily have arrows fired at them for such a wonderful opportunity to extend the old pb list. The General is already planning a visit in 2019, with full military escort.
