Before the abolition of the closed season on stillwaters, Cornwall was a popular destination for anglers and holiday park White Acres was one of the best, with a booming festival scene.
Fast-forward 20-odd years and ‘The Acres’ remains a highlight of many people’s fishing year.
Six events are running across the year, all backed by big tackle firms. Anglers fish over five days with the highest points scorer being crowned champion after their worst score of the week is discarded. Accommodation and evening entertainment is available on site and much of the fishing is only a short drive away from your holiday home.
Pick of the events is undoubtedly the Preston Innovations week in October, culminating in the Parkdean Masters Final fished by the top 25 anglers from the festival.
This one-off match packs a £25,000 top prize, won in 2018 by Craig Edmunds.
