Target a little-fished stretch of river

Angling Times (UK) - - ULTIMATE GUIDE TO 2019 -

Many reaches of our rivers are extremely well known, but far more stretches are very lightly fished.

Lots of them hold specimen fish including barbel, chub and carp, and there could be a real surprise waiting to be caught.

Such stretches lend themselves to a bit of prebaiting, as it will be you that benefits, not another angler.

Many anglers have loads of old bait they can use for this. If you haven’t, hemp, stewed wheat and pellets are fairly cheap and perfect for the job.
