GIVE IT A GO...

1 BAIT

Unless it’s freezing, I fish pellets for skimmers. I use 4mm and 6mm expanders, but I’ll also have hard 6mm pellets for bigger fish.

2 FLOAT CHOICE

You will catch a lot of skimmers just as the float settles, so the float needs to be relatively light. A 4x12 slim-bodied float is perfect.

3 OPENING FEED

The swim is kicked off with a ball of wetted-down micro pellets. I’m talking about a lightly-squeezed nugget no bigger than a golf ball.

4 LOOSEFEEDING

Don’t feed too tight an area. A catapult gives you a nice spread of bait and I’ll fire in 6-10 4mm pellets every two minutes.
