THE Trent is home to some of the best barbel fishing in the country, as Dave Rowbotham discovered on a recent session.
In a fantastic 11-fish haul, Dave banked this golden-coloured specimen scaling 14lb 3oz.
The Doncaster rod used the popular barbel bait of pellets, but rather than buying a bag from his local tackle shop,
Dave concocts his own: “On the flooded river my smelly homemade garlic and lamprey pellets worked a treat.”
