3 SIMPLE STEPS TO SUCCESS

-

TENSIONING THE TIP

FOR carp fishing, I’d have the tip set with quite a bit of bend in it because you’re not trying to identify and strike at small taps and pulls.

What you want is for the tip to go right round and then keep on going, as there can be no doubt in this situation that a fish is on.

If you’re after roach and skimmers, the opposite applies. A tip with less tension and more slack in it is crucial, as this allows the fish to take the bait and register the bite on the tip without any chance of them spitting the hookbait out. This can happen all too often if the tip is too tightly set.
