HOOK PATTERN

When zig rig fishing it’s important to use a hook with a wide gape. Beaked points are also better than straight ones.

LOADING TOOL

Some zig foam kits come with a loading tool like this one. They compress the foam and help it to fit snugly in the slot.

You can either attach your foam hookbait with a knotless knot, or use a dedicated ‘Zig Aligna’. Here’s how to do it.

LINE ALIGNER

Bites when zigging can be finicky at best, so using some sort of line aligner is a wise move. This one’s a Zig Aligna.

Once it’s in the slot, trim the foam to suit with sharp scissors.
