SADDENED BY SHRIMP BAN
I WAS interested in fishing Rollesby Broad, near Ormesby St Margaret in Norfolk.
John Wilson describes the Broad, in his Fishing in Norfolk book, reporting catches of roach, rudd, hybrids and bream, with good fishing for pike later in the year.
I went to the place for a recce, only to discover this sign about the ‘killer shrimp’. I looked them up online, and they seem to be bad news for the Broad.
It’s a real shame, because I was looking forward to fishing this water, and don’t know how long fishing will be banned for. Are many other waters in the Broads area affected, I wonder?
