APAC Outlook

A New Chapter

- Enjoy the issue! Tom Wadlow Editorial Director, Outlook Publishing

As the world continues to be gripped by the coronavirus pandemic, we continue to uncover stories of resilience and innovation within the regional business community.

From adopting new working cultures to implementing meticulous hygiene standards in order to safeguard employees, organisations are adapting to survive and, in many cases, uncovering new opportunities to generate business.

We want to provide a platform for even more of these stories to be told. Therefore, this will be the final edition of Asia Outlook as we know it. From our October edition (Issue 46) onwards, we will be rebranding to APAC Outlook to encompass a heightened focus on activities in Australia and New Zealand, as well as the surrounding Pacific islands.

This builds on the already globally successful Asia Outlook platform, and we will, of course, continue to explore the biggest and best of business across the Asian continent.

Asia Pacific, or APAC, has long been recognised as a unified part of the world in terms of commerce and trade, and it is our intention to bring you the most inspiring stories from a host of industries which contribute to economic growth across the entire region.

Be sure to head over to our newly-branded website www.apacoutlookmag.com to discover more and subscribe, the easiest way to ensure you don’t miss the launch issue of APAC Outlook magazine.

In terms of the magazine that awaits you here, we delve into the COVID-19 response in New Zealand, widely praised for its handling of the pandemic to date.

Meanwhile, in Australia, we speak with leading retailer Andersens about how it has adapted to the so-called new normal, CEO Rowan Hodge explaining how the coronavirus outbreak has exacerbated the need to evolve in order to meet customer expectations.

Elsewhere, hotel giant OYO provides a fascinating insight into how the tourism industry is responding in these extraordinary times. We caught up with its CEO for Japan, South East Asia & Middle East, Dr Mandar Vaidya, to see how the company is looking to kickstart.
