Portavadie recognised for culinary excellence

-

PORTAVADIE Marina’s restaurant and bar have been awarded two AA rosettes for culinary excellence.

The marina previously won two accolades at the Scottish Outdoor and Leisure Awards and has also picked up a Highlands and Islands Tourism award.

The restaurant and bar now join a select group with two AA rosettes.

Executive chef Liam Murphy said it was an ‘honour’. He said: ‘I’m absolutely delighted to see the passion and dedication of our team rewarded in this way.

‘We are incredibly lucky to live and work in an area with such an abundant larder, from the land and sea. This, together with our innovative team, allows us to showcase the best produce to create memorable dishes for our guests.’

Portavadie’s menu is dubbed a celebration of food from across Argyll, including Isle of Gigha halibut, Argyll Smokery mussels and game from Argyll and Winston Churchill venison from Dunoon.

General manager Iain Jurgensen said: ‘We join a very small number of establishments in Argyll, and indeed the UK, which have been awarded two AA rosettes.

‘It is a fantastic opportunity to see our culinary team acknowledged for their creativity and rewarded for their efforts and career choices for following their passion for food and becoming a part of team Portavadie.’
