The stars are out at award night for Mid Argyll band
The Mid Argyll Pipe Band held their annual ceremony where band members were awarded for their contribution to the band.
The awards were presented by local councillors Douglas Philand and Donnie McMillan.
Jojo Buchanan won the award for ‘best dressed’ which was presented by Catherine, the quartermaster, for his immaculate turnout throughout the season.
Ryan Logan was awarded most improved chanter player, presented by Rod Buchanan. Most improved drummer went to Martha Moir, presented by Graeme McMillan.
The Lewis Wilson memorial shield was presented to Donal Bremner for overall most improved, by Jamie Wilson.
Rod Buchanan gained an award for outstanding contribution to the band, presented by band president Allan McLean.
Presentations were also made to senior band members, Pipe Major Craig Lang, Lead Drummer Graeme McMillan and Pipe Sergeant Nick McLean, by band members themselves for all their dedication, efforts and guidance which has led the band to success and promotion throughout the year.
Ally Fletcher was also presented with a gift for advice and tuning and ongoing support throughout the season while his wife Kim was presented with a bouquet of flowers. The Mid Argyll Pipe Band Facebook page said: ‘It was a brilliant evening thoroughly enjoyed by all from the youngest to oldest. Our own band parents and supporters provided entertainment following the prize-giving, giving us music and much singing. It was a great wee ceilidh.’
