The stars are out at award night for Mid Ar­gyll band

The Mid Ar­gyll Pipe Band held their an­nual cer­e­mony where band mem­bers were awarded for their con­tri­bu­tion to the band.

The awards were pre­sented by lo­cal coun­cil­lors Dou­glas Phi­land and Don­nie McMillan.

Jojo Buchanan won the award for ‘best dressed’ which was pre­sented by Cather­ine, the quar­ter­mas­ter, for his im­mac­u­late turnout through­out the sea­son.

Ryan Lo­gan was awarded most im­proved chanter player, pre­sented by Rod Buchanan. Most im­proved drum­mer went to Martha Moir, pre­sented by Graeme McMillan.

The Lewis Wil­son memo­rial shield was pre­sented to Donal Brem­ner for over­all most im­proved, by Jamie Wil­son.

Rod Buchanan gained an award for out­stand­ing con­tri­bu­tion to the band, pre­sented by band pres­i­dent Al­lan McLean.

Pre­sen­ta­tions were also made to se­nior band mem­bers, Pipe Ma­jor Craig Lang, Lead Drum­mer Graeme McMillan and Pipe Sergeant Nick McLean, by band mem­bers them­selves for all their ded­i­ca­tion, ef­forts and guid­ance which has led the band to suc­cess and pro­mo­tion through­out the year.

Ally Fletcher was also pre­sented with a gift for ad­vice and tun­ing and on­go­ing sup­port through­out the sea­son while his wife Kim was pre­sented with a bou­quet of flow­ers. The Mid Ar­gyll Pipe Band Face­book page said: ‘It was a bril­liant evening thor­oughly en­joyed by all from the youngest to old­est. Our own band par­ents and sup­port­ers pro­vided en­ter­tain­ment fol­low­ing the prize-giv­ing, giv­ing us mu­sic and much singing. It was a great wee ceilidh.’
