Charity raffle boost for the Beatson

-

A considerable donation has been made to the fundraising raffle for the Beatson.

Members of Lodge Loch Fyne recently raised £300 for the grand Christmas raffle on behalf of the Beatson Cancer Centre, organised by Lochgilphead women Yvie Young and Maria MacKenzie.

Members of the holiday rental home decided to chip in when they heard of Mid Argyll Hospital nurse Yvie Young and Icon Hairdressing owner Maria MacKenzie’s attempt to give back to the Beatson after they each spent time in the facility getting treated with radiotherapy.

‘It’s so calm and relaxed, it is like a spa,’ Maria said. ‘The Beatson is just a special place, so we wanted to put something back.’

Lodge Loch Fyne members Tommy Angus, Jimmy McCallum and Master of the Lodge Donald Crawford donated their cheque to the raffle.

Donald said: ‘It’s a cause very close to my own heart and I wish them every success.’

Tickets for the raffle, which will be drawn on Christmas Eve, are now on sale and available from Maria, Yvie, Icon Hairdressing and Sei Bella.
