Scot­tish This­tle Awards suc­cess

A ho­tel on the banks of Loch Long has been recog­nised at the Scot­tish This­tle tourism awards.

Knock­derry House in Cove was awarded the Best Eat­ing Ex­pe­ri­ence ac­co­lade at the re­gional fi­nals for the west, which took place on Thurs­day Novem­ber 29 at Oran Mor in Glas­gow.

The 15-bed­room ho­tel and res­tau­rant was praised by judges for its fo­cus on food prove­nance and for of­fer­ing a ‘very warm, wel­com­ing and authen­tic qual­ity Scot­tish ex­pe­ri­ence’ for guests. The busi­ness was also com­mended for its col­lab­o­ra­tion with lo­cal busi­nesses, in­clud­ing Cruise Loch Lomond and Glen­goyne Dis­tillery.

Own­ers Beth and Murdo MacLeod said: ‘At Knock­derry the en­tire team work in har­mony to de­liver the com­plete ex­pe­ri­ence for our guests. Of­ten go­ing the ex­tra mile to ex­ceed ex­pec­ta­tions. It is there­fore fit­ting and par­tic­u­larly plea­sur­able for us to achieve recog­ni­tion as Best Eat­ing Ex­pe­ri­ence.’
