Regaining confidence

-

Sir, On behalf of everyone at Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us this year.

In 2018, thousands of people in Scotland had their lives turned upside down by a chest, heart or stroke condition. Living with such a condition can cause fear and isolation as people struggle with the impact on their lives.

One in five people in Scotland are affected by chest, heart and stroke conditions and that number is growing. People need our advice line, stroke nurses, rehabilitation support and peer support groups more than ever. Your support has helped people take back their lives, regain their confidence and live life to the full.

Thank you also to everyone who has volunteered their time to support us whether it is through fundraising, working in our shops or helping care for people through our support groups. None of the work we do would be possible without the invaluable contribution of our volunteers.

There is so much more still to do and I hope we will have your continued support in 2019. Together we can and will make sure there is no life half lived in Scotland. Thank you. Jane-Claire Judson, chief executive, Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland, Edinburgh.
