Witness appeal

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man wearing a red jacket, walking a spaniel dog, assaulted another man at midnight on Wednesday December 26 at the corner of Barmore Road and Harbour Street, Tarbert.

Drug charges

A 16-year-old stopped and searched by police was allegedly found to be in possession of cannabis at 6pm on Wednesday December 26 in Furnace. The youth was charged.

Alcohol stolen

At 8pm on December 31, a 41-year-old man allegedly stole alcohol from Tesco Filling Station, Paterson Street, Lochgilphe­ad. The man was traced and charged and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Housebreak­ing

Items were stolen from a house after it was broken into sometime between noon on Monday December 31 and 10am on Thursday January 3. The property, at Asknish, Lochgair, is being renovated.

During the same period, also at Asknish, containers on a building site of a house under constructi­on were forced open and tools stolen.

Police are investigat­ing both incidents.

Abusive behaviour

A 44-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man were arrested for allegedly behaving in an abusive manner at 9am on Tuesday January 1, in Front Street, Inveraray. The pair were charged and a report was submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Assault arrest

A man, aged 62, was arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman in Whitegates Court, Lochgilphe­ad, at 6.30am on Thursday January 3. The man was charged and a report was submitted to the procurator fiscal.

No seat belt

A 46-year-man was issued with a £100 fixed penalty ticket on Friday January 4 after being stopped by police on Lochnell Street, Lochgilphe­ad, for not wearing his seat belt.

No MOT

Checks on a car stopped by police on the A83 at Lochgilphe­ad on Saturday January 5 revealed it had no MOT. The 80-year-old male driver was charged and issued with a £100 fixed penalty ticket.

Fine and points

Police stopped a 52-year-old male driver for speeding on the A83, near Kilmory Industrial Estate, at 7pm on Saturday January 5. The driver was issued with a £100 fixed penalty ticket three penalty points.

Fence kicked

Police are investigat­ing after a garden fence in Manse Brae, Lochgilphe­ad, was kicked and damaged at midnight on January 4.

Vehicle damaged

An aerial and wipers were broken off a Volkswagen Polo sometime between 5pm on Friday January 4 and 10am on Saturday January 5, in Manse Brae, Lochgilphe­ad. Police are investigat­ing.
