Forests and dentists – who cares?

-

Sir, Once upon a time, some people were working in the forest.

The work made them hungry, so they ate their lunch and afterwards wrapped the rubbish tidily in a plastic bag, before leaving it by a tree when they went home.

Since then, many bottles, cans and sandwich boxes have been left in our forest, some of

which are near the spring which supplies our water. Does the forest care? I don’t know. Noone asks it.

I wonder if those who leave behind their rubbish are the same folk who fail to keep their dental appointments. According to a notice displayed on the dentist’s door there are 61 of them. It seems that if you don’t respect the environment, you probably don’t respect your oral health either.

Forests and dentists are valuable resources. If we disregard their service, perhaps one day they will cease to be there.

But then, who cares? A resident of Torinturk, Tarbert. Name and address supplied.
