Preparing for Crinan Canal opening

Final preparatio­ns were under way last week for the planned re-opening of the Crinan Canal on May 13.

The canal has recently undergone a £3.7 million Scottish Canals refurbishm­ent involving the replacemen­t of a number of lock gates at the eastern section of the ninemile-long canal and dredging.
