Resilience is the word

The Scottish farming community has had to be resilient in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic

-

Planning work around social distancing with ‘bubbles’ and coping with increased isolation has been a major part of farming life during the last year and no one is denying that it has been tough. But the good news is that marts are reporting that prices for prime stock continue to climb nationally and demand is soaring for calves as prime beef prices keep rising. Shows and social events have gone online across the land and there is a mix of what is and is not on this summer. Right now the industry is getting ready for its busiest time of the year – when farm implements will see their greatest use and need to be kept in the field with servicing repairs and spares on hand and on call. It is also important that the right supplies arrive at the right time and at the right price, so farmers across the West Highlands and Island right now are spending wisely with businesses they know and trust.
