Wind farm donation puts puff in Mid Argyll’s pipers
Mid Argyll pipers and drummers will have more opportunities to learn after a donation from a windfarm community fund.
Mid Argyll Pipe Band was last month awarded a £5,977 grant from A’Chruach Community Fund, part of Foundation Scotland.
The fund supports projects operating in the community councils of West Loch Fyne, Dunadd and Lochgilphead.
The pipe band funding will go towards buying new sheepskin bags for pipers, top level drumming tuition and new uniforms for players who have come through the Mid Argyll Pipe Band system and joined the band.
The committee and members thank the community council for selecting Mid Argyll Pipe Band.
A band spokesperson added: ‘The grant will enable us to continue being as accessible as possible for all, and strengthens our commitment to providing a direct path for anyone who wishes to take up piping and drumming in Mid Argyll.’
