Create Your Future with Argyll College UHI
If you love life in Argyll but think you need to move away to get the qualifications you need, think again. As the main provider of further and higher education in the region, Argyll College UHI has a wide range of courses and subject areas to choose from, so you can be confident that whatever your interest, whatever the level, we’re sure to have something to suit you.
Some of the subjects on offer include Business, Childcare, Social Sciences, Computing, Healthcare and more. As a partner of the University of the Highlands and Islands, we also have access to a wide range of degree and postgraduate programmes.
If you’re looking for a way to express your creative flair, why not try one of our Art courses. Whether you’re just dipping your toes into the creative world or want to challenge your existing skills, we have courses to suit all abilities.
Our Art and Design NC courses are perfect for beginners. You will be introduced to a variety of art disciplines such as painting, sculpture, life drawing, printmaking, animation and photography, and improve your artistic knowledge through research projects and trips to art galleries.
If you’re ready to take the next step and perhaps make a career from your artistic abilities, our Contemporary Art Practice HNC or HND might suit you better. As well as continuing to develop skills and techniques, exploring different media, the course also prepares you for a career in the creative industry through personal development modules such as building a portfolio.
To showcase the incredible work our current HNC and HND Contemporary Art students have produced in what have been exceptionally challenging circumstances this past year, Argyll College UHI recently launched an end of year virtual exhibition. The platform allows fellow students, family, friends, local communities, and audiences further afield to view and appreciate a selection of our student’s contemporary work.
