United Auctions, Annual Fair day, Dalmally Auction Mart, July 30: 393 head of Quality bred cattle was sold to a strong force of buyers.
Bullocks sold to £1500 for a 598k Charolais Cross from D W Semple & Son, Dippen to average £1133.48 (+£150.59) and to 345.8 p/k for Limousin Cross from Dunolliebeg Farm Partnership to average 252.49 (+ 20.69p). Heifers sold to £1480 for a 362k Limousin Cross from J Campbell & Sons, Succothmore to average £1033.42 (+ £172.85) and to 408.8 p/k for the same animal to average 253.94 (+ 25.66). At the show prior to the sale, judging was in the capable hands of Mr. W Gray, Balquharrage Farm, Lennoxtown and his awards are as follows.
