BANNATYNE – Malcolm, Shirley and family would like to convey their thanks to relatives, friends and neighbours for their kind expression­s of sympathy following the loss of their dad, John. Grateful thanks are extended for the wonderful care and compassion provided over recent years both at home and in the hospital. Special thanks are extended to Rev Gary McIntyre for a fitting service as well as his comforting support and also to Megan Anderson for the thoughtful music. Thanks also to Kenneth Blair and family for their profession­al funeral arrangemen­ts. Many thanks to Campbeltow­n Bowling Club for their assistance and also to Argyll Bakeries. Finally, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who paid their last respects on the day and for the donations towards a defibrilla­tor for local use. MACFARLANE / MAASSEN – Ian, Garret and Kevin and their families would like to thank those who looked after Helga in her final days and who have sent kind expression­s of sympathy following her death. In particular our thanks are extended to the care team whose support was exemplary – kindness itself and consistent­ly caring and supportive, to Colette from Macmillan Cancer Care, Kenza,

Jane and the community nursing group, hospital nurses and other medical staff who attended Helga. The family are also indebted to neighbours who have been so supportive during recent months and to paramedics and Carr Gomm Responders for their interventi­ons. Thanks, too, to Stan Lupton and his team, Funeral Directors, Belinda Braithwait­e of the Humanist Society Scotland and Christine Stevenson of Cairnbaan Hotel for their profession­al services. Also, to Morna for preparing floral tributes using flowers from Helga’s garden and the ground staff at Achnabreac Cemetery. And to Heather at the Dochas Centre, Iona and Lucy from the Council for their kind support of Ian, to all those who attended the Celebratio­n of Helga’s Life on October 24 and the many who donated so generously in Helga’s name to Scotland’s Gardens Scheme charities, including Maggies and the Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland.

MCCUAIG Mary, David and Michael, family of the late Donald (Donnie) McCuaig thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for the many kind expression­s of sympathy, letters, phone calls, cards, home baking and flowers received in our sad loss. Special thanks to all staff at Mid Argyll Hospital and voluntary drivers over the last few months; Roddy and Fiona, of Donald MacDonald Funeral Directors for profession­al guidance and support; Rev. Robert MacLeod for a comforting service; to the Cardross Inn for excellent catering and to Morna for beautiful flowers. Thanks to all who paid their respects at Cardross Crematoriu­m. The generous collection was donated to the Macmillan Nurses Mid Argyll. -

WALLACE - Kim and family of the late Jean Wallace would like to thank everyone for the many phone calls, cards, letters and flowers received following their recent sad loss. It was very heart-warming. Special thanks to Wendy, Elena and staff at Ashgrove home, Dunoon, for the care and compassion given to Mum during her stay there. A heartfelt thanks too, to the friends who supported me in the difficult weeks prior to Mum’s passing. Your kind words were of great comfort to me. Kim.
