Lochgilphead hosts school badminton champs
There was shot-making of the highest quality on show from across the region at last Wednesday’s Argyll and Bute Primary Badminton Championships and Mid Argyll pupils played their part in some enthralling matches.
More than 70 competitors from schools across the area took part in the competition, held at Lochgilphead Joint Campus on Wednesday March 8.
As well as hosts Lochgilphead, pupils travelled from Inveraray, from across Kintyre, Oban, Lochnell, Lochgoilhead and Rothesay.

Primary reached the final of the girls’ singles, eventually losing out to Louise Ralston of Castlehill Primary in Campbeltown.
Millie-Mae McIntyre from Inveraray Primary was a runner-up in the girls’ doubles final, with her partner Lois McCallum of Castlehill Primary in Campbeltown, where they were defeated by Campbeltown pair Louise Ralston, of Castlehill PS, and Eliza Doxsey, of Dalintober PS.
Many of the games were keenly contested and, at the end of a successful day, the following awards were presented by Active Schools assistant manager Lori Ure.
