New-look Love Local gift card launched
Argyll and Bute’s Love Local gift card has a new look for the summer, thanks to Colin Slinger, from Tighnabruaich, whose stunning photo of Ostel Bay will be the featured image for 2024 onwards.
Argyll and
Bute Council launched a competition to find a scene of an iconic landscape from the area, and Colin’s pic from Cowal’s secret coast captured judges’ hearts and minds.
Available since 2021, the gift card encourages people to support local businesses by shopping locally.
There are more than 300 independent shops, experiences and services to choose from, with a wide range of offerings including local produce, artisan items and carefully-curated gift ranges.
“Congratulations to Colin on winning the competition with his fantastic photo,” said Councillor Jim Lynch, leader of Argyll and Bute Council.
“Ostel Bay is just one of Argyll and Bute’s many fantastic beaches that draw thousands of visitors to the area. What a great advert for our gift card and for the area in general. “It’s also an opportunity to remind people to make use of our Love Local gift cards whenever you can. The quality of products available in our shops is fantastic, often original, and buying locally supports local jobs and our economy.”
The gift card can be bought online at https://scotlandgiftslocal.com/product/argyllbute-gift-card where there is also a list of businesses that accept the card as payment.
Cards are also available to buy in-store at Keeping It Local CIC, 3 Longrow, Campbeltown, and Lochgilphead Post Office at 5 Union Street.
