Fèis an Tairbeirt musicians in fine form
Treòir pupils from Fèis an Tairbeirt celebrated the end of term by playing together in some fun group workshops.
The youngsters, who normally learn through an online programme, had the opportunity to work in person with their tutors and fellow pupils at workshops organised in Tarbert.
Pupils learning the clarsach, accordion, fiddle, keyboard and the drums benefited from individual lessons before they gathered together to play.
The event was made possible thanks to a generous award of £625 from the Ventient Energy A’Chruach Wind Farm Community Fund, which is administered by Foundation Scotland.
Fèis an Tairbeirt chairperson Alison McBride said: “The day went really well.
“Our online lessons allow us to reach pupils wherever they are in Mid Argyll and Kintyre, but it was lovely to see so many of our young musicians in person and listen in to their lessons and group work.

opportunity for our learners to join together and play traditional tunes in an informal setting. It was inspiring to see the progress they have made working with our wonderful tutors.
“We are a voluntary organisation and these in-person events are only made possible thanks
to the generosity of our funders.
“I’d like to say ceud mile taing to the A’Chruach Wind Farm Community Fund and Foundation Scotland for their fantastic support which helped us to provide such a funpacked day that brought many smiles to the faces of our young learners.”
