Staff came together to preview the new set-up, and members of the team at fellow cycling friendly company Midton Acrylics were also invited.

Jamie Joyce from Argyll Countryside Trust (Act) gave an introduction into essential cycle skills and maintenance. He also gave a demonstration with an ebike which was a huge hit with the team.

Representatives from Breeze Women’s Cycling Mid Argyll also went along to promote their events and a few of the team signed up.

MacLeod Construction director Mairi Coleman said: “It was a great afternoon and really helped to promote cycling to work.

“Since launching the new facilities, our bike shelter is getting busier and we are seeing an increase in people cycling to work which is great. We’ve also seen an increased interest in ebikes since Jamie from Act let us try theirs.

“With so many forestry roads in the area, several of our team are able to cycle to work on them to avoid the roads and come in via Kilmory Castle which is great.

“We hope to plan more cycling events through the year with the aim of encouraging more of our team to cycle to work.

“Our sincere thanks to Cycling Scotland for their support with the award and to Act for coming along for the afternoon too.”
