Feorlin rises to her Big 5 Challenge
Teenage rugby fan and player Feorlin Renton took on the number five at the weekend in memory of international rugby player Doddie Weir and to raise money for five charities close to her heart.
Starting at 5am on May 5
Feorlin walked from her home town of Inveraray up to the Watch Tower above the Royal Burgh and back five times as part of her Big 5 Challenge.
She was accompanied by friends and family, who encouraged her to complete the five laps despite the foggy day, to raise funds for The Beatson, Glasgow Children’s Hospital, The Wooden Spoon Children’s Rugby Charity, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation and Inveraray Pier Fund.
Feorlin also held a coffee morning the day before, Saturday May 4, in the Nicol Hall to help boost the fundraising but it was quieter than hoped for due to two other events in the town that day.
However, the JustGiving page, a raffle on the day of the coffee morning, plus an online raffle of a signed and framed Glasgow Warriors jersey donated by Ali Carberry and her fellow administrator of Glasgow Warriors Supporters’ Forum – due to be drawn on Friday May 10 – has raised just over £600 so far.

Feorlin said: “Thank you so much to the forum for this generous gesture.
“I’m so thankful to those who have supported the ‘Big 5 Challenge,’ for five very deserving charities.
“To everyone who attended the coffee morning, handed in donations, bought raffle tickets for either raffle, to the local shops and individuals who donated prizes for the
