T is change, which is why it was about time for a new look Artists & Illustrators. Not that we went all in and replaced your favourite features and articles. Rather, we changed-up the things that were working well and tweaked those that maybe needed a little polish. The result means that each and every artwork that features amongst the pages of this publication are presented in a way that makes them look like the elite paintings and drawings that they are. We hope you like what we’ve done; it’s certainly been a fun journey. Let us know at info@artistsandillustrators.co.uk. But it would be impossible to make the magazine look good without impactful art. Those who helped us showcase the brand new design include Kelvin Okafor; his pencil portraits are so lifelike, you’ll do a double-take. Then we’ve got former army helicopter pilot Hannah Shergold whose wildlife paintings are inspired by her service trips to Kenya and Sarah Graham; her colourful, retro portrayals of sweets, toys and kitsch paraphernalia are happiness on canvas. On the more traditional tip, we examine the life and inuence of one of the 20th century’s most important artists, Walter Sickert, and consider what we can learn from the works of Raphael. Both artists have major new London shows, worthy of a visit by all art acionados. Last but not least, we also have exclusive interviews with eight of the botanical artists showing at this year’s RHS show, seen as the best of its kind in the world. This, and much more, in just one issue. Be wowed.
